CODENAME: S.H.E.R.L.O.C.K. - Part 2
"Oye, I stumbled upon some leftover biscuits from this morning. No luck with the crisps," reported Mathers as he entered the room. I had procured a spare kit from the Ministry's locker room for Sherlock, consisting of just a pair of pants and a pullover.
"It's active!" cried Mathers, dropping the biscuits in surprise. Before I could react, he was already in Sherlock's face, asking, "Has it assimilated the interaction matrix correctly? Has it expressed anything?"
"Yes, I believe it has," I answered hurriedly. "Sherlock assimilated the matrix and--"
"Stop right there," interrupted Sherlock, annoyance etched on his features. Mathers reached up to touch him, but he reacted, "The biochem guys did a fantastic job--"
"That's quite enough!" Sherlock exclaimed firmly, startling Mathers. But it lasted only a moment before Mathers regained his composure and snapped, "Walker, what exactly does it think it is? It's my responsibility to ensure its proper functioning!"
The room fell silent for a moment. Sherlock stepped forward, invading Mathers's personal space and making him cower as he spoke, "I am not an 'it'. My name is Sherlock Holmes, and it is my business to know what others don't. I assume that's why I was brought here." Sidestepping Mathers, Sherlock headed for the door. "Coming, Walker?"
"Coming? Coming where?" I asked, trailing behind him as he turned down the hall and disappeared from sight.
"Shopping for proper attire," came his distant reply.
